I think domes are used fairly often for water containment. There is one near my place on Shuswap lake as well.
I know a man who lives in Eagle Bay who built himself a mini-dome, and is seriously interested in dome buildings. He has a subscription to dome magazines etc. He has the contraptions you need to build domes and knows all about their construction, and will tell you all the great things you want to know about domes. He also has nice horses.
His name is Rennie and I can get you his number if you want to talk to him.
oh yeah he also has vidoes made by a momolithic dome company that show exactly how to build them. (which I borrowed for way too long so he might not lend them to you , but he might :)
